What type of yoga is practiced at Living Lotus Yoga Retreats?
We practice Hatha Yoga which is the foundation of all styles of yoga. It incorporates Asanas (postures), Pranayama (regulated breathing), meditation (Dharana & Dhyana) into one complete system. We will have basic Asana classes which will stress proper foundation and alignment, Vinyasa, a faster moving flow which focuses on coordination of breath and movement and Restorative where you will spend longer periods of time using blocks and straps, and lying on blankets and bolsters - passively allowing muscles to relax. All of our yoga classes will be taught with a sense of fun and adventure. We think laughter is one of the most beautiful expressions of yoga!
